5 Marketing Trends for 2019

1. AI & Programmatic Advertising.

More and more companies are choosing to use artificial intelligence for their businesses because it saves costs and accelerates growth. By 2020, 25% of customer service will be run with chatbots. Programmatic advertising uses AI to buy digital ads targeted to more specific audiences.

2. Personalization.

Think Netflix. Personalized content, products, email, and other marketing based on purchase history and consumer behavior is on the rise. It helps customers find what they want and makes them feel more connected to your brand. A whopping 78% of consumers say that personally relevant content increases their purchase intent.

3. Original and Relevant Content.

Clickbait is dying. Consumers want real, original content from your company that helps them solve a problem. And while automation can cover basic tasks, consumers still want a personal touch and a human element.

4. Micro-Influencers.

Unlike traditional “influencers” – celebrities or well known experts or figures paid to promote products or services – micro-influencers typically have 1,000-10,000 followers but have highly engaged follower bases. They’re other people in your field, city, and even your company itself. They’re people who use and love your products or services.

Engagement is far higher with micro-influencers than traditional influencers and far more affordable. Partnering with others is a great way to generate new leads and increase brand awareness. More about micro influencers here and here.

5. Video.

Video has consistently been on the rise. Nearly 80% of people watch online videos every week, and by 2020, online videos will make up over 85% of internet traffic in the US. If you’re not utilizing video for your marketing and branding, you’re likely not targeting a large portion of your audience. See more incredible video marketing statistics here.
